For CITES efforts, petitions and email campaigns are useless. We will be on the ground and we will be speaking directly with decision-makers about the key reasons shark protection is wise. We will be discussing the economic advantages of shark populations. We will be discussing new, inexpensive DNA tests that will streamline customs procedures and make it feasible to enforce CITES decisions.
Why is this important? As we travel to Panama, we looking at unprecedented opportunities to protect sharks. With you as part of our team we will show great strength and be better able to speak with decision makers.
What Does a Virtual Delegate Do?
We will send you proprietary communications throughout the CoP. If you can, please: Stay informed. Talk with interested friends, dive groups, clubs, family members about the importance of this treaty. Post updates on your social media.
We will travel to Panama and receive our credentials. We will attend be reporting from the Conference from November 14 – 24th.
