A current Cocos Island study examines the impact of introduced animals on endemic species.  Nancy Orias Hidalgo is researching the relationship between Cocos Island rats and cats and endemic birds.

Preliminary results obtained by capturing and sacrificing island rats and then examining stomach contents reveal evidence of both feathers and eggs.  Details and additional information can be viewed in this slide show generously provided by Ms. Hidalgo.
